The Greens are the only ones in the US that get it too (aside from a small minority of Dems). Unfortunately, most people are still suffering the delusion that the Democratic party isn't dominated by warmongering corporate stooges. If only the media and more people would listen to the more principled voices...
What's the situation like for Greens in the US right now? Here in Ontario we actually have a candidate for each riding, which I think is a great milestone and accomplishment.
As far as the presidential election goes, the Greens are completely below the radar. But that's nothing new, since the media refuses to admit there's an alternative. To my knowledge, no candidate has been announced for 2008. The website still has a link up calling for letters of intent.
Most of the Green activity in the US seems to be on county and city councils. I know the Green candidate for governor in Pennsylvania didn't even make the ballot, but in the last congressional election a Green got 10% of the vote for my district (Pittsburgh). Hopefully yours will do better.
In addition to supporting The Greens one should also support Greenpeace as well! These folks literally put their lifes on the line for us and the environment, please help support the cause. Thanks.
Well Yaaaaaaaah!! =))
