I've got four delicious rock concerts lined up over the next several weeks: The Shins (Kool Haus on March 17), Isis (Opera House on March 20), Placebo (the Guvernment on April 9), and Kaiser Chiefs (Kool Haus on April 18).
I must thank you for mentioning Isis in your 'best of 2006' post - after seeing a fair amount of common ground between your music taste and mine, I thought I'd give them a shot, and am pleased to report that I am a definite convert.
BTW, I don't know if you're a fan of old-school industrial, but I just got hold of the latest album from The Young Gods, and it's absolutely fantastic.
Excellent, glad to hear you're enjoying Isis. Along the lines of post-metal/sludge metal, be sure to check out bands like Jesu, Cult of Luna, Callisto, and Tephra.
I'm definitely going to check out The Young Gods -- sounds right up my alley. I've been listen to industrial since the late 80s but somehow never came across this band.
